Interior Designer

8 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
Salary:
$60,000 – $80,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
Overview:
The Interior Designer plays a pivotal role in leading the interior design direction for Maison Design + Build projects. This position oversees the development and execution of interior design concepts, including space planning, finishes, furniture, and window coverings, ensuring that all selections align with architectural intent, project budgets, and Maison’s Net Zero building standards.
Working closely with the Design Leader, Architectural Technologist and Design Technologist, the Interior Designer is responsible for integrating interiors seamlessly into the broader building design. This role is highly client-facing, leading design presentations, guiding selections, managing FF&E procurement, and ensuring the interior vision is executed accurately in the field.
The ideal candidate combines strong creative ability with rigorous technical and organizational skills, thrives in a collaborative environment, and maintains Maison’s standards of thoughtful luxury across every project stage.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the interior design process, including concept development, space planning, finishes, furniture, and window covering selections.

Develop and present interior design concepts, mood boards, and material palettes to clients.

Manage FF&E procurement including quoting, ordering, receiving, inspection, installation coordination, and warranty follow-up.

Ensure all interior design elements align with project budgets, schedules, and Net Zero building standards.

Collaborate with the Design Leader and Architectural Technologist to integrate interior designs with architectural plans and detailing.

Work closely with the Design Technologist to ensure interior layouts and selections are accurately documented in drawing packages.

Lead and mentor Design Consultants and Assistants in maintaining libraries, preparing documentation, and supporting project delivery.

Participate in site meetings and reviews to ensure design intent is executed during construction.

Record all documents, drawings, and specifications in BuilderTrend and maintain up-to-date project information.

Contribute to continuous improvement of Maison’s design standards, specifications, and FF&E processes.
Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architectural Technology from a recognized institution.

5+ years of professional experience in residential interior design.

Demonstrated experience leading client presentations and managing FF&E procurement.

Strong knowledge of building systems and detailing relevant to interior design.

Familiarity with Net Zero design principles and integration with building envelope strategies.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software; experience with BuilderTrend is an asset.

Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.

Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
