Project Manager – New Home Construction

Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Project Manger is responsible for the planning and execution of all projects from start-up to close-out.  The Project Manger liaises with the client and design team, works closely with Site Leader(s) to oversee the project and ensure it is completed safely, on time and on budget with exceptional quality, and meets customer expectations. 

Responsibilities:

• Plan the project, develop the schedule and budget, assign labour, equipment and materials
• Manages the design and construction project schedules 
• Manages external professional service contracts including architects, mechanical, designers, technology design 
• Manages all contracts with trades and suppliers
• Accountable for Quality Assurance Program for Construction
• Leads bidding process
• Set up of project in Buildertrend
• Monitor project performance with respect to schedule, costs, equipment, labour and materials
• Communicate regularly with the Site Leader, consultants and subcontractors 
• Maintain regular contact with client, advising of progress
• Review and implement design concepts into construction methodologies
• Obtain all permits for projects
• Conduct regular site tours to review progress and monitor quality
• Complete project update reports
• Manage project issues and risks
• Issue change orders
• Oversee construction for ensure compliance with building and safety codes and regulations
• Leads T-6 Process leading up to the client possession date

Hours of Work:

• Approximately 40 – 45 hours per week

Salary:

• Based on Experience

Qualifications and Work Experience:

• PMP Designation and / or related post-secondary degree / diploma
• 10+ years of resident construction experience
• Knowledge of building codes, construction specifications and related legislation and regulations
• Strong decision making skills
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with owners, consultants, sub-contractors ad trades
• Experience with Buildertrend and SiteDocs is an asset.
